posted Sep 9, 2016, 5:52 PM by Jefferson Bands   [ updated Sep 9, 2016, 8:07 PM ]

This is to notify the Jefferson Band Booster Club (JBBC) Membership that the JBBC leadership is proposing changes to the JBBC Constitution, detailed below, that will be voted on at the fall band concert to be held in October.

  • The Publicity and VP roles were combined
  • Language was added about the Band Secretary reviewing JBBC financial statements
  • Language was added stating that JBBC will pay for an audit team to perform a regular review of the financial records
  • The Friends of the Band and Membership positions were divided into two separate positions
  • Robert’s Rules of Order were dropped for JBBC meetings
  • Position descriptions detailing specific duties for all leadership positions will be added as an addendum to the Constitution & Bylaws
  • Wording in Article V - Financial Reports, Section III was changed to read “The financial reports, records, and taxes of the organization shall be reviewed annually by an audit team, including at least one non-board member, that has been approved by the Executive Board.  A written report shall be submitted to the Executive Board detailing the results of the review.” This change was made due to the prohibitive cost of an “audit”, which was the language used in the prior version of the Constitution, at the recommendation of JBBC members knowledgeable about financial best practices.

Please respond contact one of the JBBC Board Members if you have any questions or concerns.
