JBBC Membership
We appreciate your participation in the JBBC! Your paid membership goes directly to supporting ALL band and flag programs throughout the year, including Wind Ensemble, Varsity Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Big Band, Jazz Collective, Pep Band, and Marching Band and Flag Corps.
These monies have been and are used for: stipends for directors, band secretary, flag corps advisors, tour chaperones, award banquets, parent socials, band Halloween party, drum major camp, student scholarships, advertising and other program needs throughout the school year.
Membership provides the following opportunities:
- Be an active voting member
- Access to Student Band Directory (useful for carpool needs)
- Your student’s participation in fundraising activities to build their escrow account.
Your child’s fundraising dollars can be used for:
Classroom Bands (Wind Ensemble, Varsity, Concert & Symphonic)
- Jefferson Bands Performance Tour (every other year)
- Instrument Rental
- Lessons
Extracurricular Bands (Jazz Big Band, Jazz Collective, Marching Band & Flags)
- Marching Band Performance Tour (every other year)
- Activity Fees
- Instrument Rental
Given the many performances and fundraising events throughout the year, band families are also expected to support the band program through volunteer hours. Our fundraising events are made possible by the support of all families in the Band program, and the students need our help to keep the program going strong! If a family cannot support the volunteer requirement, there is an option to opt out by making a one-time payment.
Volunteer Requirements*:
One student: 10 adult hours/family
Two or more students: 15 adult hours/family
*Volunteer hours will include time spent leading or participating in an event, committee or a JBBC meeting.

Please consider becoming a member and join the JBBC family. Feel free to speak to any JBBC Board member with any questions or concerns. As parents, there are many opportunities to meet other parents and to support your kids in Bloomington’s Premier Band Program.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Please note – ANNUAL membership in JBBC is required if students want to use individual escrow funds for their own benefit (i.e. band fees, band trips, instruments, etc). All other fundraising activities without a JBBC MEMBERSHIP will go directly to the JBBC general fund to benefit the entire band.
